Taking into account the linguistic diversity of the Arab world, as well as the presence of Arabic in Spain, the Language Centre has offered courses in Modern Standard Arabic and Moroccan Arabic (Darija) since its inception. In 2012, courses in Egyptian Arabic and Levantine Arabic (spoken in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan) were also introduced, along with in-company courses for businesses and individuals.
Regular courses are aimed at adults and young people aged 13 and over, while children’s courses cater to children aged 3 to 12. Both are organised on a termly basis throughout the academic year (September to June). The teaching methodology follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The certificate issued by Casa Árabe’s Language Centre attests to course attendance and successful completion, but it is not an official qualification.
