  Conference: "New Art Market Scenarios: The Emerging Scene in Saudi Arabia

  What characterizes the emerging art scene in the Gulf region? What place does Saudi Arabia hold, and more specifically the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, in its development? In what direction are the artists, collectors and managers who work in the region looking? Taking advantage of the special moment provided by the ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair and the exhibition by Ayman Yossri in Madrid, Casa Árabe and Madrid's Sabrina Amrani Gallery are organizing a round table discussion with role-players who have first-hand knowledge of this cultural reality, which is not commonly experienced within our country's art scene. Visual artist Ayman Yossri converses with collector Basma Al Sulaiman, the founder of Basmoca, Saudi Arabia's first virtual art museum, and with Sara Raza, an art curator and expert on art from Central Asia and the Middle East, with a great deal of experience in the Gulf region.   5. "Written Culture in the Granada of Al-Andalus" by José Miguel Puerta Vílchez

  Al-Andalus and the thousand-year Kingdom of Granada (1013-2013) is the subject of debate and reflection at the seminar and series of conferences which Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the Alhambra and Generalife Board of Trustees and the Legacy of Al-Andalus Foundation, has organized as the final brushstroke to the exhibition "Art and Cultures of Al-Andalus. The Power of the Alhambra", which has been on display at the Chapel and Crypt of the Palace of Carlos V (Granada, Spain).   Conference: "Contemporary Arab Art" and "Mudejar Art in the Americas". [V.O inglés/español]

  Series of events titled "Amrika: Arabs in the Americas," which Casa Árabe, Casa de América and Casa Mediterráneo are organizing from March 24 through June 11, offering round table discussions, film screenings and conferences to analyze the presence of the Arab world and culture in Latin America. In this context, Princess Wijdan Al Hashemi, President of the Royal Society of Fine Arts Jordan, offers a presentation entitled "Contemporary Arab Art".
